Qualcomm’s 5G, WiFi 6/6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 SoCs for IoT Applications

The QCS6490 from Qualcomm was designed for Enterprise applications and IoT, including support for Wi-Fi 6E and 5G. It can support bi-directional MIMO and deliver data rates up to 3.6 Gbps. The SoC is equipped with an Arm v8 Cortex Kryo CPU and an Adreno 642L 812 MHz GPU.

The SoC features an Adreno VPU (Visual Processing Unit) for ultra-HD video encode and decode in high quality, as well as a Qualcomm AI Engine 6th Generation Hexagon DSP with dual Hexagon Vector Extensions (HVX), Hexagon Coprocessor (HexagonCP) 2.0, and Hexagon Tensor accelerator.

It also has two lite ISPs that can support up to 5 cameras at once. The SoC is controlled by PCIe, USB Type-C DisplayPort and USB 2.0.

The QCS6490 features Qualcomm’s Low-Power Picture Enhancement & Qualcomm True Palette Display Features. It also supports 4K QAM and 160 MHz bandwidth. It supports GPS, GLONASS NavIC BeiDou Galileo QZSS and SBAS.
