On Wednesday, the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan and Teltonika IoT Group in Lithuania signed a 14 million euro deal to share semiconductor chip technologies.
Teltonika is granted the right to use the technology and equipment developed by the Taiwanese Institute for the fabrication of semiconductor chips. The agreement will be funded with a contribution of 10 million euros from Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry, and a contribution of 4 million euros from Teltonika. The semiconductor projects are expected to be completed by 2027.
Arvydas PAUKTIS, the founder and president at Teltonika IoT Group, believes that this will be the largest international collaboration between Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and a foreign nation.
Ausrine Armonaite said, “We have the potential to establish ourselves on the global semiconductor market. This partnership with Taiwan will enable Lithuania to move quickly, to compete with the world’s most powerful players and to achieve our ambitious goals.”
This agreement shows that we can be trusted to work on such complex projects. “I believe that the completion of the planned work will make Lithuania one of the most advanced nations in the world,” said he.
