SolarEdge To Acquire Hark Systems In Order To Improve Its Energy Management Skill

SolarEdge’s product line has grown in recent years both in the UK as well as across the globe. Hark offers software as a services (SaaS), IoT and industrial asset analysis to improve the performance of energy and industrial assets.

SolarEdge, a giant in the solar industry, has acquired UK energy analytics and Internet of Things (IoT), Hark Systems. With the acquisition, the company with its headquarter in Israel can now offer its corporate and industrial clients (C&Is) more capability to manage their energy assets.

SolarEdge will use its energy management and connectivity capabilities to optimize energy usage and reduce carbon emissions. This includes identifying potential energy savings and detecting anomalies in asset’s energy consumption. It also plans to orchestrate loads and control storage. The acquisition should be completed in Q2 2023.

SolarEdge has achieved a record Q3 inverter sales in 2022, with a 90 percent increase in revenue year-over-year. To increase imports to the US, and to lessen the impact of tariffs on the company’s operations, SolarEdge announced in February last year that it would be increasing its Mexican production capacity.

The company is continuing to expand its presence in the UK. In 2021, they will introduce a three-phase 100kW inverter that uses synergy technologies as well as an intelligent energy management system.
