MediaTek has announced the octa core Genio 700 chipset, which is the newest addition to the Genio Platform for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. This announcement was made ahead of CES2023. The chip will be used in smart homes, retail and industrial IoT devices. MediaTek will demonstrate the new chipset at CES 2023.
MediaTek’s Genio is an IoT N6 chipset that focuses on energy efficiency. The MediaTek Genio 700 has six ARMA55 cores operating at 2.0GHz as well as two ARMA78 cores. It also includes a 4.0 Tops AI accelerator. The ISP is for better images and supports FHD60+4K60 display.
The Genio SDK allows designers to modify goods with Yocto Linux Ubuntu and Android. This tool allows users to create their own applications, regardless of what type they are.
MediaTek Genio 700 has additional features such as:
- Supports interfaces with high speed such as USB 3.2 Gen1, PCIe 2.0 and MIPI CSI for cameras.
- Dual displays are supported with FHD60 + 4K60 and video decoding of AV1, H.265 & H.264, VP9 and AV1.
- The design is industrial grade and has a lifespan of 10 years.
- ARM SystemReady Certification for Standardising and Simplifying Platform Integration; ARM PSA Certification for Enhanced Security.
