MediaTek has announced the octa core Genio 700 chipset, which is the newest addition to the Genio platform of Internet of Things devices. This announcement was made ahead of CES in 2023. This chip is designed for IoT devices in smart homes, retail and industry. MediaTek will demonstrate the new chipset at CES 2023.
The MediaTek Genio is an IoT N6 (6nm), IoT Chipset with a focus in power efficiency. It features two ARM cores operating at 2.2GHz each and six ARM cores running 2.0GHz. A 4.0 TOPs accelerator is also included. It has an image processor for better images, as well as support of FHD60+4K60 screens.
The Genio SDK allows designers to modify goods with Yocto Linux Ubuntu and Android. This tool allows users to create their own products quickly and easily, regardless of the application type.
MediaTek Genio 700 has additional features such as:
- Supports high-speed interfaces like PCIe 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen1, as well as MIPI-CSI cameras.
- Dual displays are supported with FHD60+4K60 and video decoding of AV1, H.265 & H.264, VP9 and AV1.
- The design is industrial grade and has a lifespan of 10 years.
- ARM SystemReady certification is for standardising platform integration and enhancing security.
