Morse Micro and AzureWave introduce the world’s smallest Wi-Fi haLow module

AzureWave has signed an agreement with Microsoft to design and manufacture two Wi-Fi HaLow module, one of which will be the world’s smallest, allowing for Wi-Fi HaLow applications in Internet of Things scenarios.

Today, AzureWave Technologies, Inc., an industry leader in wireless connectivity and image processing, announced a partnership with Morse Micro, Inc., which is a semiconductor firm reimagining WiFi® for the Internet of Things.

Morse Micro’s MM6108 chip supports the two modules, which are based on FCC certified reference designs. The MM6108 has a range 10 times greater than conventional Wi-Fi and is also the industry’s smallest and fastest Wi-Fi haLow SoC.

AzureWave offers direct purchases of modules measuring 14mm x 18mm and 13mmx13mm. Morse Micro has also created assessment platforms that incorporate these components for its customers.

Michael De Nil is the co-founder of Morse Micro and its chief executive officer. He said, “WiFi HaLow has gained momentum within the IoT eco-system, and we are collaborating with AzureWave to scale and accelerate deployments of Wi-Fi HaLow products worldwide.” By joining forces, Morse Micro is able to deliver the best Wi-Fi HaLow products that can be used in IoT applications and consumer electronics.

AzureWave, as a wireless module manufacturer, provides services to shorten development time and speed up the market for customers. This allows the products to be smaller, more value-added, and use less power.
