Kyndryl’s two-year partnership with Nokia has been extended as edge computing and private wireless are attracting the attention of companies looking for solutions to their complex connectivity issues.
Kyndryl is currently ranked No. 6 on the 2022 CRN Solution Provider 500. The CRN Solution 500 for 2022 ranked Kyndryl at No. 6. According to the company, 2023 is the year when businesses will accelerate their IoT strategies and digital transformation. Gretchen Tinnerman is the vice president of Kyndryl’s U.S. Network and Edge Practice Leader. She stressed that private LTE and even 5G are a great connectivity option to complement existing enterprise wireless infrastructure.
Kyndryl has completed more than 100 successful private network customer engagements. Kyndryl, based in New York City, announced on Tuesday that it had achieved Nokia Digital Automation Cloud Advanced Accreditation Level.
Tinnerman believes that Kyndryl is right in her assessment of Nokia’s ability to offer the best private wireless services and devices to its customers. The collaboration brings together practitioners and resources with deep knowledge to provide secure LTE private wireless solutions for a variety of sectors.
Kyndryl and Nokia have worked together since the beginning to understand business challenges within specialised industries such as manufacturing, health care or energy. They also developed private wireless strategies with some of the best-known names in the industry, including Dow Chemical, the largest chemical producer in the world.
The two companies have partnered with a number of organisations to develop 5G and private wireless services. These include a major U.S. energy corporation, a large U.S. healthcare provider, an international petrochemical company, and one of Asia’s largest aluminium and cobalt manufacturers. Kyndryl offers private wireless services in 24 countries. Tinnerman says that the company’s reach is expanding as more spectrum becomes accessible.
Kyndryl works with several partners, including Nokia, to connect IoT installations and power private networks. Tinnerman stated that Intel is an essential partner for the company as more connected devices equipped with Intel chips are being used by clients. Tinnerman said that the company plans to work with more private networking suppliers.
Kyndryl also announced on Tuesday the opening of an innovation lab with Palo Alto Networks, a security partner. The lab will provide secure and cutting-edge wireless connectivity to industrial firms. The two companies will meet on stage in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress later this month to discuss how they’re collaborating to speed up the adoption of private 5G networks.
